Nellikai Sadam, a delicious South Indian variety rice made with healthy amla (Gooseberry/Nellikai). The sourness of gooseberry is balanced with spicy tempering making this rice more appetizing and tastier. Quick and easy to make rice. Perfect for Kid’s Lunch box. Relish with Potato chips or papad or any stir-fry vegetable.  Amla can be used fresh, dried, raw or cooked. It is healthy and nutritious in each form. I make so many recipes with amla when this amazing berry was in season. You can make fresh recipes or make different types of preserve which can easily last for a year. You can have this delicious rice for lunch, dinner and is also a good healthy option to pack in lunch boxes. You just need some papad/ potato chips/ aloo curry/ boondi raita / or buttermilk to serve with this delicious rice. Indian gooseberry / Nellikkai / Amla is very healthy in many ways. Amla helps improve digestion and relieve acidity. It is also effective for diabetics as it helps control blood glucose levels. In addition to that, it helps prevent aging and greying of hair. Adding amla to your daily diet is a great way to get maximum benefits. Amla helps to improve immunity, aids in weight management, prevent viral infections, is a natural blood purifier, relieves pain, etc. The vitamins present in amla do not get destroyed by boiling heating or exposing it into the sun rays to dry it up. Amla is such a fruit which is used in its fresh form, in its dried-out versions or cooked up varieties and its vitamins in any of the stages remain stored and still present in it. Due to its anti-platelet properties, Indian gooseberry can thin your blood and prevent normal blood clotting. So many health benefits, try this for our regular lunch box recipes. Prepare as mentioned here, and enjoy your food.
