Kondakadalai Masala Kuzhambu / Chana Masala Kuzhambu is a Protein rich kuzhambu made using Chana and other Masalas.The main unique feature of this recipe is that we are using special kulambu masala (Kulambu Masala Podi Recipe) like a chettinad masala . This masala is mild and not over dominant like chole masala . This goes very well with Rice and any other vegetable stir-fry .We can also serve with roti ,chapati, parotta, & poori.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Wash and Soak the chickpeas in water overnight .

  2. After 8 hours drain water from soaked chickpeas. Take the chickpeas in a vessel. Add fresh water with salt and pressure cook. Allow it for 2-3 whistles. Chickpeas should be cooked but not mushy. Do not strain excess water from the cooked chickpeas.

  3. Heat the pan with oil and add fennel powder & red chilies. sauté it for a minute.

  4. Now add crushed garlic & curry leaves . sauté it for a minute

  5. Then add  onion along with salt and sauté the onions till light golden color.

  6. Now, add chopped tomatoes ,Sauté until tomatoes cook well.

  7. Once the tomatoes cook well add turmeric powder , Kulambu Masala Podi Recipe & green chili. Sauté in medium flame until masala raw smell goes off. 

  8. Once the masala cook well add cooked chana with required water & required salt.

  9. Mix it well then cover cook for about 4-5 minutes until oil separate from the kulambu.

  10. Now add coconut milk mix it well. Cook another 3-4 minutes. Don't over cook after add the coconut milk. 

  11. For tempering heat the thadukka pan with oil. Then add cumin seeds. Wait until splutters.

  12. Now add chopped onion with curry leaves, Sauté until onion turns dark golden color.

  13. Now add little chili powder ,Sauté for few seconds.

  14. Finally add that on the chana kulambu.

  15. Our yummy & tasty chana kulambu is ready to serve.
