Potato Pepper Fry Recipe/ Urulai Milagu Varuval

potato pepper fry is the kind of usual spicy potato fry but in addition i made with pepper and cumin seeds. This recipe is perfect match for any sambar rice, Rasam rice and more likely with tempered curd rice. This potato pepper fry dish is universally liked by all. potatoes, which used here is not boiled one, I use directly. By slow roasting with enough oil gives you a tremendous crispy flavorful yummy dish. I love to eat like a snack. of course for healthy part cumin seeds and pepper together gives nice relief to common cold.

How to make potato Pepper fry recipe

  1. Heat a wide pan with oil.

  2. Add mustard seeds when it starts splutters add few curry leaves.

  3. Add sliced potatoes and required salt.

  4. Add turmeric powder mix well.

  5. Cover with lid and cook for 5-7mins on a medium flame. Don’t add any water in between stir the potatoes to avoid sticking on a pan.

  6. Once the potatoes cooked well then add red chili powder, coriander powder and mix well.

  7. Now add cumin seeds and pepper coarse powder.

  8. Mix well and cook in a low-medium flame till potatoes becomes crispy.  (If you want crispy potatoes don't cover with lid ,otherwise it  becomes soft only).

  9. Finally add curry leaves to the crispy potatoes then switch off the flame.

  10. Yummy pepper potato fry is ready.

Note

 

  • you can add few spices like cloves, cardamom to this it’ll gives you a Chettinad style of taste.
  • you can try this same recipe with boiled potato if you want soft one, for this no need to use more oil.
  • you can also try the same recipe with mushroom and cauliflower.
  • If you want garlic pepper flavor together, you can use crushed garlic with skin while tempering.
