Pongal is a very popular South Indian breakfast recipe. it’s not only delightful but also healthy and easy to make. There are many disparities of Pongal and this rava Pongal is one of them. The delicious breakfast recipe of Pongal made with rava and moong dal. We can prepare many dishes using rava, this Pongal is one of those recipes. Though not quick to make as you need to cook moong dal first, but tastes very good when paired with simple coconut chutney and tiffin sambar. In pongal mainly we prepare sweet pongal for festival times, the other version is Ven or savory pongal which is generally made for morning breakfast. In addition, with Urad dal soft fluffy fritters (Vada)… mouth-watering. Always use coarse semolina or also known as Bombay rava. I would not recommend using fine or even Bansi rava it’ll cause more sticky. I have roasted the rava before using it in the recipe which makes it more flavored and tastier. Rava pongal recipe | semolina pongal | Sooji ka pongal recipe with detailed photos and video.
