Tamarind rice is an easy to make variety rice recipe. It is very different from usual method. I have done this by pressure cooker like Biryani.In madurai meenakshi amman temple they prepare puliyodharai in dum method.Kovil puliyodharai is slightly different from the one which is prepared at home.so I try puliyodharai last week using pressure cooker it came out good as like temple taste. It is very easy also vary tasty puli sadham. Temple prasadams are always special, flavorful and tasty at a different level.
I shared Kovil puliyodharai, a temple style tamarind rice recipe with stepwise pictures as given bellow.

INGREDIENTS
To Prepare Pulisadham

To Prepare Spice powder
INSTRUCTIONS

First Soak the tamarind in warm water .

To prepare the spice powder , Heat the pan add fenugreek seeds. Roast it in medium flame until turns golden color.

In the same pan add sesame seeds roast until splutters.

One its cool down and powder it coarsely.

Heat the pressure cooker with oil.

Once oil is hot add mustard seeds, wait until splutters.

Then add urad dal , chana dal , peanuts. Fry until turns golden color.

Meanwhile add whole asafetida too. For the best taste add whole asafetida not a asafetida powder.

Now add red chilies & curry leaves. Fry it for few minutes.

Add turmeric powder sauté for few seconds.

Now add 1 Cup tamarind extract water also 1 cup water.

Add required salt, Mix it well. Boil for 3-4 minutes until tamarind raw flour goes off.

Add washed rice then mix it well.

Once the water start to boil close the pressure cooker ,Now pressure cook it in medium flame for 1 whistle then 5 minutes in low flame. Once the pressure is released then keep aside for 15 minutes .

After 15 minutes open the pressure cooker. Now add spice powder .

Don't mix rice when it hot , Once its cool down mix it well.

Now our yummy & tasty pulisadham is ready to serve.
Note
- For sona masoori rice & raw rice add 1 cup rice : 2 cup water.
- For parboiled rice add 1 cup rice : 3 cup water. also pressure cook about 2 whistle in medium flame ,after pressure release keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Prepare rice at least 2 hours before serving.
