Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe | How To Make Chicken Tikka Masala

Select boneless chicken for this recipe, toughly clean and wash and cut in to desired size.

Add yogurt and turmeric powder.

Add Kashmiri red chilli powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder.

To this add roasted cumin powder.

Add garam masala powder.

Add required amount of salt.

Add a small amount of neutral-flavoured oil.

Mix everything well.

Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.

Marinate the thicken for about 30 minutes in a refrigerator.

To shallow fry the chicken, heat oil in a wide pan.

Place the marinated chicken pieces in the pan, distributing them evenly.

Cook the chicken on medium heat, turning the pieces occasionally, until they are cooked.

cook thoroughly till have a slightly charred appearance. This might take around 15-20 minutes.

Once the chicken is partially (3/4th) cooked and has a nice color, remove it from the pan.

Execute the cooking process in batches to prevent overcrowding, which could lead to uneven cooking of the chicken. Finish partial cooking of all the chicken pieces.

To prepare a gravy, heat the same oil in a wide pan.

Add butter to enhance the flavour.

Add finely chopped onion and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.

Add the tomato puree.

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin powder and Kashmiri red chilli powder.

Add garam masala powder.

Add salt and little sugar to this gravy.

Cook until the oil begins to separate from the mixture.

In this time add Kasuri methi and mix well.

Add the partially cooked chicken pieces in to the gravy.

Stir well for 5 minutes to coat the chicken with the masala.

Pour in enough hot water to achieve your desired gravy consistency. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Once the chicken is fully cooked and the gravy has thickened, add Kasuri methi.

Cover the pan with a lid and let the chicken tikka simmer in the gravy for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld. Stir occasionally. Check the salt level, if need add it.

After 10 minutes, the chicken has cooked thoroughly, emanating a delightful aroma and rich taste.

Add kitchen king masala powder at this stage.

Add fresh cream to this gravy.

Cover and cook for another 5 minutes over a medium-low flame.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Delicious chicken tikka masala gravy is now ready for serving.

- The thick curd which we are using for this recipe should be thick and fresh.
- Keep an eye on the heat to avoid burning the marinade and ensure even cooking.
- When preparing chicken tikka, ensure that the chicken is not fully cooked, as it will undergo additional cooking in the chicken tikka masala and risk becoming overcooked.
- Grind 10-15 cashew nuts into a smooth paste with a small amount of water. Utilize this mixture as a substitute for fresh cream.
- Kitchen king masala powder is completely optional.
