Egg pepper fry is a spicy gravy recipe made with boiled eggs. It is a traditional south Indian Chettinad style egg pepper masala recipe. I prefer this Egg Pepper gravy for a lazy day lunch and it’ll be a super good, spicy egg fry in few minutes perfect to pair up with rice, dal / Rasam. Egg pepper masala gravy recipe / Spicy egg Masala gravy

How to make egg pepper masala gravy recipe

Heat a pan and add coriander seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper and few curry leaves.

Dry roast for 3-4 mins. in medium flame until turns golden color.

Add fresh grated coconut and toast for 2-3 mins.

Transfer all roasted ingredients in to blender, grind in to fine paste with water.

Keep ready 5 boiled eggs. And cut in to half.

Heat a pan and add oil.

Add salt, pepper powder and turmeric powder.

Roast eggs for few seconds, not too long. And remove from the pan.

Add chopped onions and curry leaves to the same pan.

Add some ghee and sauté until onions turns golden color.

Add slitted green chillies, ginger garlic paste sauté until the raw smell goes off.

Add roughly chopped tomatoes. Add salt and toss until tomatoes get mushy.

Add freshly ground pepper masala. Sauté in medium flame until the raw smell goes off.

Add turmeric powder sauté until oil gets separates from the masala.

Add enough water and garam masala sauté until oil gets separate.

Add roasted boiled eggs.

Add chopped coriander leaves and boil for another 2 mins.

Spicy yummy Egg pepper masala is ready to serve.
Note
- You can use red chilli powder or black pepper powder as per your liking.
- Freshly grounded pepper powder tastes better than the store-bought packed one.
