This onion chutney recipe is a great substitute to coconut chutney. Coconut chutney very easy to prepare for us but sometimes we need spicy hot side dish for our favorite idli and dosa. It is also known as vengaya chutney.
A rich and flavorful spicy tangy red coloured chutney recipe ideal for many dishes. Make this onion chutney recipe in 20 minutes and serve with South Indian tiffin items like Idli, dosa, wheat dosa, rava idli and rava dosa. The tamarind adds a slight sharp flavor while the red chilies add a misty flavor to the dish. Two ways of preparations, first we have to sauté all ingredients and grind, second one is grinding all ingredients in raw manner then sauté. Both gives us different tastes.
