First prepare the appam batter, for that take a bowl and add Wheat flour.

Now add fine roasted or non roasted Suji / Rava and Sugar.

Add cardamom powder, baking soda and salt.

Mix it well. Then add thick coconut milk or room temperature boiled milk.

Mix well without any lumps. after adding water the batter is thick so after thart add water then mix it well .

The batter consistency should be little thinner than the idli batter and little thicker than dosa batter. keep aside the batter for 5 minutes.

Add grated Coconut. Mix it well.

After 5 mintues if the batter is thick add water to get right consistency.

Heat the oil in kadai.once the oil is hot pour the batter carefully into the oil. Always pour one at at time. Do not pour more than one.

Flip on the other side. Flame always should be in Medium..

Once it is cooked on both sides take it out and dry it in kitchen towel.

Delicious flavorful appam is ready to serve.
Note
- You can substitute wheat flour with Maida / all purpose flour.
- You can also substitute sugar with jaggery.
- You can fry in ghee, which will give an excellent taste.
