Ingredients
To prepare Black urad dal rice
To prepare Black Sesame chutney/ ellu thogayl
Instructions

Heat a pan, dry roast the skinned split urad dal.

Dry roast in medium flame until you get nice aroma.

Dry roast fenugreek seeds. Until turns little brown.

Mix both roasted Black urad dal and fenugreek seeds.

Add rice to dal mixture and wash twice.

Soak the rice with dal for 10 mins.

Heat pressure cooker with enough water for rice and dal.

Add garlic cloves. And allow to boil.

Once water start to boil, add soaked rice and dal without any water.

Allow to cook rice and dal in low-medium flame until half cooked.

Add salt as per taste and grated coconut.

Now close the pressure cooker lid, keep the flame in low for about 5 mins.

Allow to release pressure naturally and open the lid.

Very healthy non mushy Black urad dal rice is ready for serving.
